Armed force Achievement Medal Description Armed force Achievement Medal Description 01 Portrayal The lace for the Army Achievement Medal is 1 3/8 inches wide and has eleven stripes. The principal stripe is 1/8 inch of Green, the second is 1/16 inch of White, the third is 1/8 inch of Green and the fourth is 9/32 inch of Ultramarine Blue. The inside stripe is focus 1/16 inch of White, trailed by a stripe of 9/32 inch of Ultramarine Blue, 1/16 inch of White, 1/8 inch of Green, 1/16 inch of White and the last stripe of 1/8 inch of Green. 03 CriteriaThe Army Achievement Medal is granted to any individual from the military of the United States, or to any individual from the military of a neighborly outside country, who on or after 1 August 1981, while acting in any capacity with the Army in a non-battle field, separated himself/herself separated from his/her confidants by worthy assistance or accomplishment of a lesser degree than would normally be appropriate for grant of the Army Commendation Medal. General Officers may not be granted this honor. 04 BackgroundThe Army Cohesion and Stability Study (ARCOST) of 1980 made the proposal to found the Army Achievement Medal, Overseas Service Ribbon, Army Service Ribbon, and the NCO Professional Development Ribbon. The recommended grants were first made by the intrigue of the MILPERCEN on 18 February 1981 to TIOH, who made the plans and sent them to MILPERCEN on 18 March 1981. The Secretary of the Army acknowledged the beautifications by the ARCOST gathering and on 13 April 1981, the DCSPER acknowledged a plan proposed by TIOH and requested that it be created.
